Above: early 1970's. Arena interior changes since then: 1. A tractor pulled the ice cleaning machine (replaced by a Zamboni). 2. Previously, you could see out through the windows. They are now covered. 3. Overhead lights have been changed. 4. There was a screen behind the nets, and no plexiglass yet around the boards. 5. The old clock has been replaced. (The present clock is the fourth since opening night in 1949). 6. No championship banners or pennants were displayed. 7. The roof has since been painted white. 8. The original bench seating has been replaced with theatre seating. 9. New audio equipment has been installed. 10. The players’ benches and penalty boxes have been reconfigured. 11. The boards now contain commercial advertising. |
